Simply Cleaning Essex was founded in 2023 by our director, Sam.
But the story starts long before that...
We began by specialising in End of Tenancy Cleaning and Block Management Cleaning (that’s the communal areas in flats and apartments), with a clear mission: to take the hassle off landlords, agents, and property managers. Sam’s a landlord himself, so he’s seen firsthand how painful it can be trying to find a cleaning company that actually shows up, does a decent job, and doesn’t need chasing every five minutes. And don’t get us started on inventory reports – they pick up everything.
Although the company is still fairly new, Sam brought serious experience to the table. Before this, he spent 16 years running a 76 bedroom hotel, managing over 100 staff, including a 16 person housekeeping team responsible for daily turnarounds, function suites, conference rooms, a spa, a restaurant, and all the communal areas in between.
After the hotel, a lot of that team came across to Simply Cleaning Essex and some of them have been working with Sam for over a decade (including our office team). So, while the logo may be new, the people behind it are anything but. We’re not just a couple of people who like to keep their own homes clean, the truth is we are growing team who care about every client and business we are lucky enough to work with. We know what it takes to keep spaces spotless, guests happy, and clients stress-free.
Our growth into office and commercial cleaning then came naturally. Through local connections and word of mouth, we started getting asked to take on business premises and now it forms the main part of what we do day-to-day. We’re not here to tell you we’re ‘the best’ (although we like to think we’re up there). We know cleaning’s hard work and there are plenty of decent companies out there. But we offer something a bit more all-round: a friendly, professional, straight- talking team that genuinely cares about getting it right.
We’re easy to deal with, we’re reliable, and we take pride in the work we do, whether that’s a one-off clean or a regular contract.
